Even Alexander Hagen (born 1988)

Even Alexander Hagen was from a young age active in political youth organization Worker's Youth Leage (AUF), Today, he is the youngest county mayor in Norway, in Oppland County, and in 2019 he held the opening speech at the first ever Winter Pride event in Lillehammer.
Hagen grew up in Otta, and has trained as a teacher. He has been active in politics since he became active in AUF as a teenager. Both Hagen and his partner were present at Utøya on July 22nd 2011, but they both escaped without physical injury. Though Hagen has not been active in queer and LGBT organizations, he has focused on queer politics and rights throughout his political career.
In this excerpt from the interview, Hagen speaks about how despite everything else he works with and does, he is often defined only in terms of being gay, and/or an Utøya survivor.
