Exhibition: Gay clubbing/Skeivt uteliv

Queer nightlife 1950-2017

Skeivt Uteliv / gayclubbing is an exhibition about queer nightlife and gay clubbing in Norway from 1950 to 2017. The exhibition, which was initiated by Skeivt arkiv, is a collaboration with Kunstplass [10] and will be shown at Kulturhistorisk Museum UiO in Oslo,  June 22 - August 27 2017. Henriette Stensdal and Vibeke Hermanrud, who are the people behind Kunstplass [10], have been hired by Skeivt arkiv to curate the exhibit, which will be built around archive materials from Skeivt arkiv. Skeivt arkiv is currently collecting and sourcing materials specifically for the exhibit, and we hope to be able to accurately represent the width and diversity present in gay clubbing and queer nightlife in Norway from the start of organised LGBT activism in 1950 until the present day.

Updated information about the exhibit can be found on the dedicated facebook page Utstillingen Skeivt uteliv [website ended].
