Inger Myhre Hansen (born 1943)

She moved to Oslo and began working for the city’s public transport company, Sporveien. Here, she shares memories of the queer nightlife that took place in secret during the 1960s.

Inger Myhre Hansen knew from a young age that she fell in love with girls. At fifteen, she moved to Oslo to work, and later trained as a bus driver.

In 1965, she joined what was then called the Norwegian National Association for Lesbians and Gays (DNF-48), and became active in the Open Church Group (Åpen kirkegruppe) during the 1980s.

Today, she is best known as one of the driving forces behind Golden Ladies, a social gathering space for women aged 40 and up. In the autumn of 2016, Skeivt arkiv interviewed Inger Myhre Hansen, who shared memories of the parties hosted by DNF-48 at Ormsund and Snarøya in the 1960s.
