Kristin Danielsen became active in left wing politics from a young age, as a feminist and as a lesbian. She was particularly active in Stavanger in the period 1976-1985. Today, she is a dentist specializing in jaw orthopedics.

In the interview, Danielsen talks about her youth in an open and radical Oslo family. Her family had no issues with her coming out as a lesbian. Later, she moved to Stavanger and became a part of left wing politics. This is also where she met Ruth Mjøen, who at the time was married to a man and had two children. The two became a couple after participating in a feminist summer camp together in 1976.

In this excerpt from the interview, Danielsen speaks about how her family embraced her new lesbian identity when she came out as gay.

The complete interview is available at Skeivt arkivs reading room. Skeivt arkiv met Kristin Danielsen at Lillehammer, February 2019.
