Mette Sørensen was appointed as Organizational Secretary of the then DNF-48 in 1986, a position she held until 1995. Between 1988 and 1992, she served on the so-called Partnership Committee, which played a crucial role in laying the groundwork for what would eventually become the Registered Partnership Act. Through extensive lobbying efforts targeting political stakeholders, the committee helped pave the way for the legislation, which was passed by the Norwegian Parliament in the spring of 1993.

In the summer of 2016, Skeivt arkiv met with Mette Sørensen. During the interview, she reflected on the committee’s work and shared how they drew inspiration from Denmark’s efforts to establish similar legislation.
