Ulf Tveten (1934-2024)

Ulf Tveten has spoken openly about the many years he spent in denial of his own sexuality. He married, but eventually made the difficult decision to leave the marriage in order to live openly as a gay man.

Not long after, he met the man who would become his partner for nearly twenty years. In 1988, however, both tested positive for HIV. In the years that followed, Tveten would not only lose his life partner, but also many close friends to AIDS.

In the summer of 2016, Skeivt arkiv met with Tveten, who shared reflections from a life marked by both secrecy and openness.
